Mrs. Fernandez, known as “Ising” and “Lola,” was born March 23, 1920, in the Philippines, in Banglayan, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur. She moved to the United States in the 1980s to join her daughter. In addition to Tracy, she lived in Livermore, Milpitas, San Jose and Patterson.
Survivors include four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 50 years, Arsenio Payoyo Fernandez; a daughter, Aida Fernandez Custodia; and one great-grandson.
The funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 458 Maple St., in Livermore. Inurnment will follow at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in St. Michael Cemetery, 3885 East Ave., in Livermore.
