Kaiser Permanente has awarded a grant of $40,000 to the Women’s Center Youth and Family Services, part of more than $1 million given to community organizations in San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties this year.
The Women’s Center will use the money for programs that provide counseling to families and prevent violence. The center has locations in Tracy, Stockton and Lodi.
Golden 1 donates to food bank
A food drive at Golden 1 Credit Union branches in Tracy, Stockton, Modesto and Turlock resulted in a donation of food and $5,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank.
In all, the company gave 4,247 pounds of supplies and $52,500 in monetary donations to 15 food banks throughout the state.
