East of Eden rescue volunteers are accepting applications for a litter of 12 Rottweiler-German shepherd mix puppies, seven females and five males. The pups — including Cuenca, left, and Maddox, below — will be ready for their new homes Jan. 26 or later. They will be at Petco, 2888 Grant Line Road, from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5. For information about the puppies, email eoerescue@yahoo.com or call 925-980-3035. East of Eden is a nonprofit animal rescue organization. Its volunteers are at Petco from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
