Police Log: Man arrested for theft

A man was arrested Thursday, Dec. 20, for theft after an officer pulled him over in what appeared to be a stolen car. An officer first spotted the Nissan Altima near the corner of East Street and Grant Line Road at 3:05 p.m. and reported that the plate appeared to match that of a stolen car. After stopping the car, the officer found that the plate was stolen. The suspect was booked into county jail.

3:13 a.m.: Someone in a black hooded sweatshirt broke a pane of glass trying to get through service doors at West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. The person got away by running toward Best Buy

1:19 p.m.: Police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant near the Hacienda Inn on 11th Street after someone on Bessie Avenue reported him hopping backyard fences. The man was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

8:29 p.m.: A big-rig allegedly hit a car in the parking lot of Costco, 3250 W. Grant Line Road, and then drove away. The caller didn’t appear to be injured.
