The Wednesday, Dec. 5, meeting of the Lammersville Unified School District board has been pushed back to allow a newly elected board member to be sworn into office.

The trustees voted unanimously Nov. 7 to delay the early December meeting to Dec. 12 to allow Sharon Lampel to be seated on the board. She defeated incumbent Chris Cunningham by a vote of 1,652 to 1,251 in the Nov. 6 general election.

According to school district spokeswoman Noel Balzarini, Educational Code 10554 requires new school board members take the oath of office after Dec. 7, a statute that prompted board members to make their Nov. 7 vote.

The Dec. 12 meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the district office at 111 S. DeAnza Blvd., in Mountain House.
