According to DEA spokeswoman Casey Rettig in an email Monday, Dec. 3, Rodrigo Velarde, 35, Jose Manuel Meza, 32, Arturo Martinez Alvarez, 35, and Jose Eduardo Cabral, 28, were arrested on the 10000 block of Larch Road when agents served a federal search warrant at a house on the block.
Rettig said the warrant was sealed by the court, and so she was unable to reveal details about the investigation or the search.
According to the San Joaquin County Jail website at 4 p.m. Monday, three of the four men, Alvarez, Cabral and Velarde, face charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and conspiracy.
Additional charges listed against Velarde are use of a firearm, receiving stolen property and carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony.
Alvarez is being held in county jail without bail, while Cabral is being held on $130,000 bail. Bail for Velarde is set at $240,000.
No details were available on the jail website regarding Meza’s charges or bail status.
Tracy Police Department Sgt. Steve Beukelman confirmed Friday that Tracy officers accompanied the DEA agents to the 10000 block of Larch Road around 6 a.m. that day.
Beukelman said he did not have details regarding the DEA search, but noted it isn’t uncommon for local authorities to be invited to accompany outside agencies.
All four men arrested during the search warrant are due to appear in Manteca court for arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4.
