The Tracy Press comes out once a week on Friday. The town of Manteca gets its town paper six days a week.
Why can’t we get our paper more than just once a week? Manteca is smaller than Tracy!
Also, the Death Notices are at the end of the Tracy Press, not in the middle of the Tracy Press. Whose idea was this?
Put them back in the middle of the Tracy Press. Some people don’t look at the back of the paper.

Thair's another possibility not bein considered an that is th one whair many of th crimes committed, that are reported in th police log, are initiation crimes fer wanna-be gang members an gang members themselves.
Who among ya don't like ta see stories in print about yer family an children, assumin thair good stories, which in th case of criminal activity in a criminal mind th crimes in th police log are considered ta be good thangs?
Acts of local terrorism, at th hands of th gangs an thair members, love ta see these thangs in print as it spreads fear through th rest of th community with a feelin of helplessness.
Yes, lettin th community know what's goin on crime wise is a good thang but can be counterproductive in th case of th police log an th accolades it offers ta those comittin crime with th intent of joining in with gang activities.
Th PD use ta have a pin map whair crime around th city was tracked. For consarned citizens perhaps a better informational tact would be ta allow citizens ta view it instead of printin it up in th police log.
Just a thought on th topic.
He obviously typed this comment while suffering a stroke.
My point revolves around the police log being looked at as a highlight of a paper. Think about that for a second. It's not the sports reporting, it's not stories on local events, it's not for intellectual stories and discussions about important world events, the highlight is reading about crime, accidents, acts of stupidity, etc.
I stated it was nice to keep track of the crimes which I agree helps us to be better at protecting ourselves through cognizance. However, and this is just my humble opinion, if I was on the TP staff I'd be concerned if people viewed the police log as the main reason they read the paper or visit this site. To me that indicates a failure to publish the right type of stories & articles.
cont...........
If the log is brought back I hope it's just in the paper and not online. If they can, as LMLM wonders, disable the comment section then it would be nice to see it back online, otherwise leave it in the can.
Yes, it was nice to keep track of the crimes being committed to stay informed but again, the comments usually went off in a way which to me were unacceptable and pointless.
Does anyone else find it at least a wee bit disturbing someone looks at the police log as the hightlight of the paper? Hmmmm
If it is being discontinued, hopefully they'll soon tell us why.
If he's that uninformed as a councilman, how was he on the police department?
Sorry, I'm not interested in five to six pages of high school football and articles like remember when. I am far more interested in the crimes happening in and around my neighborhood to be aware and be proactive. I choose NOT to be a victim, and knowledge of recent crimes can help keep my family and neighbors around me safe and informed.
Im not saying Tracy is full of crime. I just like to be aware.
