Members of Young Ladies Institute No. 150 of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church celebrated the group’s 75th anniversary with a visit from Grand President Evangeline Plaskett on Oct. 10.
Guests traveled from throughout the Central Valley region and other parts of Northern California and shared a lunch of shredded barbecue pork sandwiches, coleslaw, Portuguese beans, coffee and cold drinks.
The group also filled a box of goodies to be sent to troops overseas by Military Moms of Tracy.
The next meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the small hall at St. Bernard’s, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Members should take canned and dry food to donate to the needy for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Refreshments will follow the meeting.
YLI will have a Mass to remember deceased members during the 8 a.m. Mass Nov. 26 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
The group will celebrate Christmas with a cookie exchange after its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 12.

Tracy Republican Women hosts scholarship fundraiser
Tracy Republican Women Federated will host an evening of raffles, auctions and light refreshments from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at the home of Bob and Debbie Elliott, 3168 Hutton Place. Cost is $20 per person or $35 per couple.
