A native of Guanajuato, Mexico, she was born April 14, 1924. She had lived in Tracy the past 59 years.
Mrs. Placeres was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, a member of the Cursillo Movement and devoted to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Survivors include six children, George Placeres, and his wife, Yolanda, Zoila Blanco, Frank Placeres, and his wife, Frances, Henry Placeres and Carlos Placeres, and his wife, Kelly, all of Tracy, and Julie Hernandez, and her husband, Robert, of San Diego; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 33 years, Francisco Vega Placeres; and her mother, Sara Rodriguez.
Tuesday’s Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 E. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Fry Memorial Chapel, with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. A guest book is online at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
