Water Polo: Bulldogs’ league season ends on losses

Tracy High’s water polo teams traveled to Bear Creek High in Stockton, where the Bruins swept the varsity matches to finish the Bulldogs’ San Joaquin Athletic Association season on Oct. 25.

Varsity boys: Bear Creek 13, Tracy 3

Leading the Tracy varsity boys (5-13 overall, 1-7 SJAA) were Chris Ramon, Chaz Samaniego and Casey Bishop, who each scored a goal. Samaniego had six saves playing goalie, and Vincent Mello had four saves.

Varsity girls: Bear Creek 6, Tracy 4

Courtney Eddy, Nicolette Rocha, Sarah Agee and Makennah Bailey all scored goals for Tracy (5-11, 0-6), and Allie Britt had five steals.

Tracy vs. McNair

Tracy High’s water polo teams hosted their last home game of the season Oct. 22 against McNair in a nonleague contest.

Varsity girls: Tracy 19, McNair 3

The Bulldogs took an 11-3 lead at the half and shut out the Eagles in the second half.

Senior Annie Foote led Tracy on offense with four goals, and seniors Allie Britt and Sarah Agee scored three goals each. Courtney Eddy, Lane Fishburn and Makennah Bailey scored two goals each, and Nicolette Rocha and Samantha Williams each scored a goal.

Goalie Dallyce Marglon had 19 saves, including one on a penalty shot.

Varsity boys: McNair 19, Tracy 17

McNair had a 9-5 lead at the half and held on through a second half that featured heavy scoring.

Sophomore Chris Ramon led the offense for Tracy with nine goals. Chris Kennedy and Taylor Mellick scored two goals each, and Michael Motyka, Anthony Singh, Ian Hutton and Casey Bishop each scored one goal.

Austin Lowe had three steals, while junior goalie Chaz Samaniego blocked seven shots and junior Vincent Mello blocked two shots.

Kimball at Delong Tournament

The Kimball varsity boys went to the Delong Tournament in Modesto on Oct. 20 and finished seventh in their bracket with wins over Gregori and Modesto high schools.

The Jaguars lost to Cardinal Newman, Pitman and Lincoln high schools.

Trevor Trew was the standout for Kimball with 24 goals and 11 steals for the tournament.

Reese Maxfield scored eight goals, Justin Ricobonno scored five, and Daniel Van Nierkerk had 11 steals and two goals.
