A caller reported that two large dogs running were loose and that one of them was biting the neck of a third dog on the 700 block of West Mount Diablo Avenue at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4.

Police cited the owner of the dogs that killed the third dog. The owner then surrendered his dogs to the animal shelter due to the incident.

Tracy police received 196 calls for service Thursday, Oct. 13. The following is a sampling of those calls.

1:25 a.m.: Police arrested a 23-year-old man for an outstanding warrant from Amador County Sheriff’s Office for elder abuse following a traffic stop on the 1900 block of West 11th Street. He was also issued a new charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:52 p.m.: Police arrested a 31-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for carrying a concealed dagger on the 2000 block of North Tracy Boulevard.

11:04 a.m.: A breaking and entering was reported at a vacant apartment on the 2300 block of Holly Drive. There was alleged damage to the back door, but nothing was reported missing.

11:16 a.m.: An official at Traina School office, 4256 Windsong Dr., reported a student was found in possession of two knives. The teenager was cited for a weapons violation and released to his mother.

11:40 a.m.: Police arrested a 37-year-old man during a security check on the 900 block of Bordona Lane for an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license. He was booked into San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

12:58 p.m.: A metal garage door and fencing was reported stolen on the 800 block of Palm Circle.

4:59 p.m.: Police arrested a 54-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license near Interstate 205 and Tracy Boulevard. He was cited and released by the police to await a pretrial hearing on the matter.

5:39 p.m.: Police arrested a 28-year-old man for an outstanding warrant for drug possession on the 400 block of Darlene Lane.

6:34 p.m.: Police arrested a 44-year-old man for carrying a concealed fixed blade knife following a pedestrian stop near East Street and Hollywood Avenue.

7:02 p.m.: A dog was allegedly found tied to the tree in the front yard of a residence on the 1500 block of Poppy Hills Lane. Animal control took the dog to the shelter.

8:28 p.m.: Police arrested three men, ages 19, 23 and 25, following a pedestrian stop near Third and A streets. The arrests were reportedly gang related, but no details were provided on the charges except for one man having a parole violation.

11:06 p.m.: Five suspected gunshots were heard on the 1200 block of Dove Drive. Police were unable to locate the source.
