The Tracy pair won the first set 6-4 and the second set on an extended tiebreaker 7-6 (9-11).
Tracy’s 5-4 win puts the Bulldogs at 3-1 for the season. It was West’s first loss, putting the Wolf Pack at 7-1.
The crosstown rivals split the singles competition, with West winning the No. 1, 2 and 3 matches. Emma Bell beat Chiara Adamo 7-5, 7-5; Regina Pacheco beat Aubrey Boehm 6-3, 6-1; and Jessica Diaz beat Camille McDaniel 6-0, 6-4.
For Tracy, Cassidy Dolstra beat Ashley Phillips 6-1, 6-2; Maisy Green beat Maliyah Shavers 5-7, 6-4, 6-0; and Marissa Anderson beat Chloe Pounds 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
In doubles, Tracy’s Keara O'Brien and Sarah Kellogg beat West’s Abby Sevilla and Julie Schobey 6-4, 4-6, 6-4; and West’s Rachel Vindiola and Arianne Coleto beat Tracy’s Taylor Hurlock and Katrina Broughton 6-1, 6-4.
Oakdale 7, Kimball 2
The Jaguar tennis team took a loss in its first Valley Oak League match Thursday, against the visiting Mustangs from Oakdale High.
Kimball won both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches as Krishna Sankara beat Kalkidan Curtis, 6-4, 6-2, and Kylie Moxley beat Katie Odom, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Oakdale won the rest of the singles and all of the doubles matches.
Francesca Orvis beat Viel Salgarino 5-7, 7-5, 12-10; Nicole Dickens beat Jessica Agcanas 6-3, 6-3; Christine Winders beat Tara Adeniron 6-0, 6-0; Taylor Davis beat Ysabel Candalla 6-4, 6-4; Taylor Kelley and Alyssa Perigen beat Angela Egbuchulam and Julie To 6-1, 6-1; and Rochelle Pabalan and Melissa Van Dyke beat Ashley Laqui and Sara Kim 6-3, 6-3.
The Mustangs won a third doubles match by forfeit.
