Today’s Remember When “mystery photo,” top left, shows a Tracy High teacher giving a student instructions in 1979. Who was the teacher, what did he teach and what is he doing these days?

Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” bottom left, shows Charlie Payne, secretary of the Tracy Aerie of Eagles, presenting a “Mother of the Year” award to Margaret McHenry in 1957.

She was honored for her work providing emergency assistance in Tracy. McHenry House was named for her. Payne later served as state president of the Eagles fraternal organization.

Retired Tracy Postmaster Bob Hedrick identified Charlie Payne, a longtime postal package carrier, and Margaret McHenry.
