A new volunteer organization has been formed to support football teams at Tracy High School.

The Tracy High Football Boosters Club has already scheduled its first fundraising event, a tri-tip dinner Sept. 29 at the Portuguese Hall.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed at 7 p.m. by a tri-tip dinner. Raffle prizes will be awarded and music provided.

Tickets for the dinner, $40 each, can be reserved by calling Bambi Russell at 321-5434.

Russell is serving as chairwoman of the Tracy High Football Boosters Club, which is providing support for varsity, sophomore and freshman teams at the school.

Boosters club memberships are $25 each, and memberships include Tracy High Football license plate frames, said Theresa Minnix, club spokeswoman.

“Our goal is build financial support for all the teams, especially in providing safety equipment,” she said.

The club also helps sponsor weekly Thursday night pregame dinners for the varsity team in the school cafeteria. Sponsors for the dinners are being sought, Minnix said.
