The Tracy Dry Bean Festival — which is held Sept. 8 and 9 — had its queen and princess named Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Tracy Community Center.

Lexie Van Os captured the title of Bean Queen from a field of eight contestants. The 11-year-old, whose parents are Mike and Julie Van Os, is a sixth-grader at St. Bernard’s Catholic School.

In the princess division, Meredith Hagler took the crown by beating seven other contestants. Hagler, a 10-year-old attending fifth grade at Hawkins Elementary School, is the daughter Sam and Laura Hagler.

Pageant Director Juana Dement hosted the event at the community center. The girls were crowned by their respective predecessors, Queen Julia Flohr and Princess Colby Haskell.

The girls will join the current Tracy Royal Court to represent the Tracy Chamber of Commerce for one year at the bean festival and other events, such as Fourth of July Day in the Park and ceremonial ribbon cuttings and parades in Tracy.

All contestants received a trophy for participation.
