Police Log: Man arouses suspicion with bank exit

A Wells Fargo Bank teller called to report a man with gold teeth entered and ran out of the bank with a bandana over his face at 1900 W. 11th St. at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15. When teller asked him what brought him to the bank, the man, dressed in all black clothing, reportedly put a bandanna over his face and ran out. He was seen getting into the back seat of a Jeep, which was driven away.

Tracy police received 205 calls for service Wednesday, Aug. 15. The following is a sample of those calls.

11:37 a.m.: A woman called to report she found her home had been broken into on the 1600 block of Meadow Lark Lane.

11:40 a.m.: A caller reported a man selling CDs and other items in front of Tracy Liquors, 1220 W. 11th St. Police checked and found he was promoting his own music.

11:51 a.m.: A caller reported a 3-year-old riding a toy car hit his van on the 2300 block of Christy Street. He said he didn’t think the child’s parents were concerned enough about the incident.

12:08 p.m.: Police went to Tracy High School, 315 E. 11th St., to investigate a weapons violation. No arrests were reported.

12:45 p.m.: Police arrested a 20-year-old woman for trespassing at Raley’s, 2550 S. Tracy Blvd. The arrest occurred after a caller reported a drunken woman roaming the store and asking men to buy her alcohol. Police checked and found the woman’s mother had reported her as a missing person. The woman had reportedly been released from county jail in the morning, after she was arrested for being drunk in public the previous night.

1:26 p.m.: A caller reported hearing possible gunshots near the 300 block of Violet Place. He said he wasn’t sure if it was gunfire or construction. Police checked and found Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory was using a nearby test site.

7:48 p.m.: Two boys were seen throwing rocks at passing cars from behind the bleachers at Tracy Ball Park, 2001 Bessie Ave. They were gone before police arrived.

AS THE "WOULD BE BANK ROBBER" WAS EXITING THE BANK HE WAS OVERHEARD YELLING "OH NO I FORGOT TRACY HAS A NEW CHIEF!"
