Tracy police recorded 194 incidents Tuesday, Aug. 7, including the following reports:

Five people were injured when an SUV crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a car around 6 a.m. on Highway 4 near Middle River Bridge on Wednesday, Aug. 8, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Laura Lopez, 25, of Corning was traveling west when she crossed the double-yellow line and crashed head-on into a Honda Civic driven by Benjamin Ueda, 46, of Discovery Bay.

Witnesses told CHP that Lopez passed as many as 11 vehicles before the crash, CHP spokesman Adam Sheldon said.

Sustaining major injuries in the crash were Lopez, Ueda and his passenger, David Valarde, 44, also of Discovery Bay.

Lopez and Valarde were flown by medical helicopters to regional hospitals, while Ueda and 4-Runner passengers Marco Rodriguez, 21, and a 17-year-old boy were taken by ground ambulances to area hospitals.

The two 4-Runner passengers reportedly sustained moderate injuries.

Sheldon said officers intend to cite Lopez for driving without a license and crossing the double-yellow line.

An update on those flown by medical helicopter was not available Wednesday afternoon.

2:21 a.m.: Someone on the 600 block of Alden Glen Drive reported a naked woman screaming along the side of the road. An officer arrived and stopped a man who was running north along Alden Glen Drive. It turned out to be a medical issue, and one of the people — it was unclear which one — was taken to Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

3:01 a.m.: Tracy police went to Motel 6, 3810 N. Tracy Blvd., for a report of a loud party. Police arrived and arrested a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of being drunk in public. They were taken to San Joaquin County Jail, where they were both booked and released.

6:52 a.m.: Police went to a home at the northwest part of town after a man reported that his stepdaughter had just broken her mother’s nose with a punch to the face. The man handcuffed the teenage girl and waited for police to arrive. The girl, who reportedly had been drinking, was taken to juvenile hall.

9:30 a.m.: A man at Kimball High School, 3200 Jaguar Run, told police that a woman sent him text messages threatening to “tarnish his reputation with the school district.” Police found out who the woman is and advised her to stop texting the man.

10:08 a.m.: A landlord at an apartment complex on the 300 block of West Eaton Avenue told police that someone broke in the front door of one of the apartments. The landlord didn’t have much information about the person who broke the door, and while the tenant did not want to report the incident, the landlord wanted police to take a report.

11:45 a.m.: Police called an ambulance for someone with a leg injury after a crash between a car and a bicyclist at Corral Hollow and Schulte roads.

2:22 p.m.: Police went to the 200 block of West 10th Street for a report of a man taking off his pants. Police arrested an 82-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk in public.

4:45 p.m.: A woman on the 100 block of East Mount Diablo Avenue wanted police to check out a man who she thinks is watching her, as he has repeatedly driven past her house. Police investigated and determined that the 83-year-old man wasn’t doing anything unusual.

6:54 p.m.: Police arrested a 49-year-old man on the 2800 block of Hidden Valley Court on a Sacramento County warrant for a previous charge of indecent exposure. Police took him to San Joaquin County Jail.

7:47 p.m.: Police arrested a 23-year-old woman on the 900 block of Taft Avenue on a warrant for previous charges of burglary, theft and providing false information to police. She was taken to San Joaquin County Jail.

8:13 p.m.: Police stopped a teenager walking near East and 22nd streets and arrested the teen on suspicion of drug possession and on suspicion of altering an imitation firearm to make it look like a real firearm. The youth was taken to juvenile hall.

8:46 p.m.: Police checked a house on the 1500 block of Annie Way after someone reported the front doors were wide open. Police learned that the resident was in Lathrop and on his way. Upon his arrival, police arrested the 36-year-old man on suspicion of possessing a stolen motorcycle. He was taken to San Joaquin County Jail, where he was booked and released.

9:29 p.m.: Someone reported a possible drunken driver at Grant Line and Paradise roads. Police found the car at Sunset Liquors on the corner of Grant Line Road and Parker Avenue and arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving and drug possession. His car was towed, and the man was taken to San Joaquin County Jail, where he was booked and released.

11:05 p.m.: A woman on the 1600 block of Stags Leap Lane said a family member with a gun threatened other family members. Police detained a man at gunpoint on Stags Leap Lane just east of Alden Glen Drive, and another at gunpoint on Alden Glen Drive just north of Stags Leap Lane. Police looked for another man who was reportedly involved but did not find him. It turned out to be a family argument over drug use, and the father reportedly would not cooperate with police. There were no arrests.

"Sheldon said officers intend to cite Lopez for driving without a license and crossing the double-yellow line"

That's it?!?! A citation? She should be arrested and go to prison.

1) Driving on a suspended license

2) Reckless driving

3) Speeding

4) Illegal passing (crossing over double yellow line)

5) Illegal passing (passing multiple vehicles at once)

6) Child endagerment

7) 2 counts of assault with a deadly weapon

and I'm also betting on:

8) Driving without insurance

She would have been treated more like a criminal if she had shoplifted a dress.

It's time people like this woman were treated properly. Arrested and tried.

If this is her vehicle, I would like to know how someone with a suspended license can get a vehicle registered in their name. If this was not her vehicle I think the person who owns it should be cited for giving her the keys. I also think the parents of the minor should be cited for allowing their minor child to be in a vehicle with someone without a license.

There are too many people like this woman on our roads. It's time the law dealt with them properly.

...and yet another ignorant, oblivious, reckless operator (aka "sport") of a full size SUV causing needless harm and injury to others. Their ego so fragile and delicate, but made strong while in the big SUV, helping to increase their sense of self worth, value, and invincibility. It’s getting about time to increase accountability and responsibility for the operators of these vehicles via additional driver training, situational awareness, and liability for these ugly behemoths and their operators so often seen around town. The person involved in the situation described here didn't even bother to have a license. How many more incidents like this need to occur before we change the rules? They’re obviously not intended to be race cars or look like one, right sport?

As she was driving without a license, I doubt she had insurance either. Wonder who will end up paying the bills...

If you follow pinkwillow's line of thinking an armoured police vehicle is the cure for all of our crime problems, our social problems, the city's budget problems etc...

That is, until the next issue of Police Department Toys magazine comes out and someone writes an article on why inland police departments should have 100' yachts. Then pinkwillow will be back trying to justify why the TPD needs one and how we will actually be safer with one.

That is called argument ad absurduim, tommybahama.

When pinkwillow raised a what-if scenario, instead of discussing how probable that cscenario might be, you launched into yet another (completely improbable) topic about "yachts".

That's a little thing we educated folk call sarcasm RHCP. I thought you would understand that, as I believe you to be an educated person.

tommybahama,

Satire includes literature such as Dante's Inferno or popular stories about Lillyputians, whinniams, and yahoos.

Satire rang a different tone. You may be mixing up what's called sarcasm. But at least we get your point now.

Just FYI, I'm certain what you are doing is called argument ad absurdium.

Dear Timmy,

Please reread , pause and try to understand what was written.

This was a everyday situation, that could have been a barricaded suspect, not was.... It was an example of something that occurs every day that can turn bad, and frequently does. But does not go all the way to the extreme- mass murder.

An armored vehicle is not just for the extremes. Again, have your lil buddy at the police dept. ask some real cops the reason for it.

This accident never would have happened if we had an Armored Police Vehicle.

Hey Timmy bahama, look at the 11:05 log entry. If those people where in the house it's now a barricaded suspect if they don't come out. No not in Tracy.......

"If those people were in the house?" The truth is they were not in the house so this does not qualify as a hostage situation.

Once again, another one of your lame attempts to make up facts to justify what you believe to be a necessary expense.
