Police found pry marks on a door and broken window, which could have provided access to the house. The woman described the two men as black and in their 20s, one thin and one with a medium build.
Tracy police received 159 calls for service Tuesday, July 24. The following is a sample of those calls.
12:10 a.m.: A caller reported people were in a pool at a house for sale on the 400 block of Silvertail Place. Police checked and found no one, but there was evidence that someone had been there.
4:30 a.m.: An Acura Integra was reported stolen from the 4200 block of Mulberry Court. The owner said the car had rear-end damage and a cracked windshield.
6:44 a.m.: A rear passenger window was broken on a car on the 2700 block of Lincoln Boulevard.
9:11 a.m.: The back window of Farmers Insurance, 539 W. 11th St., was broken. The caller said he heard the crash and then found the damage.
9:34 a.m.: Police issued a warning to people sleeping on a mattress behind Pete’s Liquors, 202 W. 11th St.
12:03 p.m.: A woman told police a man posing as a member of the Homeless Coalition stole money from her that was raised from a BBQ on her behalf after a house fire on the 100 block of East Kavanagh Avenue.
1:48 p.m.: A 1998 Honda Civic was reported stolen from the West Valley Mall at 3200 Naglee Road.
2:10 p.m.: A man’s sister broke into his house on the 300 block of Granada Way. He said he was missing a handgun, but he reported at 9:51 p.m. that she had left the gun on his front porch. Police are investigating.
4:56 p.m.: A truck was broken into on the 1100 block of Rusher Street. The owner told police his stereo was missing.
5:09 p.m.: A homeless couple reportedly broke into a boarded-up house on the 400 block of Essex Court. He said there were items from the house lined up on the sidewalk on Grant Line Road. The man and woman were gone before police arrived.
5:50 p.m.: A caller said someone broke the driver’s side window of his step-son’s car on the 900 block of Sagewood Court.
9:10 p.m.: A woman told police a 6-year-old child and his grandfather pushed her 6-year-old son down on the playground on the 400 block of East Ninth Street. She said she wanted to document the incident and planned to take the matter to apartment management.
9:10 p.m.: Police arrested a 27-year-old man at Target, 2800 Naglee Road, on suspicion of petty theft. The arrest occurred after a caller reported a man cutting open pre-paid cell phone packages with a large knife. The man was seen leaving the store in a car, and police stopped a car matching the description on westbound Grant Line Road.
9:30 p.m.: A woman asked for extra patrols after someone stole things from her backyard on the 2900 block of Coventry Drive.
10:51 p.m.: A man was slumped over inside a car in the drive-thru of Wendy’s, 725 W. Clover Road. Police found the man was sleeping.
