It’s the most athletes the gym has had in its 10 years and it’s an increase of more than 40 percent over last year, when the gym had 80 youth on its competitive teams.
The growth coincides with the addition of two new owners, Jennifer Moore and Andrea Fagundes, who are also coaches with the gym, in addition to gym founder Julie Van Os.
“The more athletes we can positively influence, the better,” Moore said.
Fagundes added that she and other coaches hold themselves and athletes to high standards.
“That’s what builds strong programs with great reputations and is what is going to make a gym thrive,” she said.
In addition to the full-year competitive cheer teams, Athletic Perfection offers half-year competitive teams, which will draw another 50 athletes. The MacArthur Drive gym is also home to recreational tumbling classes for nearly 100 youths, including a preschool and a boys-only class.
