Nominations for fair award sought

The San Joaquin County Fair won’t kick off until September, but organizers are already taking nominations for one of the fair’s most prestigious awards.

In addition to the various honors given to raisers of livestock, the fair hands out a Blue Ribbon Award to an individual or organization that has provided volunteer, educational or other support to the festival that was first celebrated in 1860.

Nominations, including a brief written recommendation, can be sent to San Joaquin County Fair, 1658 Airport Way, Stockton, CA, 95206, or emailed to fair interim CEO Janet Covello at jcovello@sanjoaquinfair.com.
