Domingo Salas Rodarte

Services were conducted this week for U.S. Army veteran Domingo Salas Rodarte, 86, a Tracy resident since childhood, who died Monday, June 18, at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital.

Born Aug. 4, 1925, in Dunsmuir, Mr. Rodarte lived in Tracy for 82 years. He served in the Army during World War II and then worked 20 years for Gonzales Transit Mix and 20 years for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Family members still occupy the house he built in town.

Mr. Rodarte was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scouts of America Troop 506.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Priscillia Rodarte of Tracy; five children, Steve Rodarte, and his wife, Esther, of Modesto and Robert Rodarte, and his wife, Cheryl Williams, Alicia Lucero, and her husband, Henry, David Rodarte, and his wife, Stephanie Miller, and Susan Rodarte, all of Tracy.

Also surviving are a sister, Gloria Martinez of Tracy; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., handled funeral arrangements.
