Pvt. Aaron J. Vanlue, who participated in commencement Saturday, June 2, as a member of Kimball High School’s first graduating class, plans to continue his training this summer as a member of the Army National Guard.
Vanlue completed basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., during the summer of 2011. He will enter advanced individual training this summer at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., as a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist. CBRN specialists are responsible for defending against the threat of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weaponry.
The private is the son of Mike and Debbie Vanlue of Tracy.
Airman completes basic training
Airman Nicholas V. Butera, a West High School alumnus of the Class of 2010, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base.
He is enrolled in tech school in Wichita Falls, Texas, and expects to be stationed at McConnell Air Force Basic in Kansas as an aerospace ground equipment technician.
