Tracy police received 147 calls for service Tuesday, April 17. The following is a sample of those calls.
12:01 a.m.: A caller reported a possible drive-by shooting near the 1900 block of Bridle Creek Circle. He said he heard people screaming, and he saw a sports car leave the area. Police checked and found no signs of a shooting.
12:42 a.m.: The owner of a stolen car from Los Banos called to advise the police that his car, a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, might be in Tracy. He said he also wanted to advise them about the theft of some guns and $20,000 worth of property.
1:12 a.m.: Someone spray-painted and broke a car window on the 200 block of Kelley Mist Court. The woman who called said she got the car back from the shop after someone had poured a gallon of paint over it. Police are investigating.
7:55 a.m.: Car tires were slashed on the 2000 block of Grant Line Road.
8:51 a.m.: Someone stole $469 from a cash register at Save Mart, 2005 N. Tracy Blvd.
9:42 a.m.: Police arrested a man on suspicion of spousal abuse in central Tracy, though the victim said she didn’t want to press charges against her husband.
9:47 a.m.: Medication and tools were stolen from a house on the 100 block of West Eaton Avenue.
noon: A man was seen taking a backpack, wallet and iPod on the 1400 block of Mariani Court.
12:42 p.m.: Police arrested a 25-year-old man for an outstanding drug warrant following a traffic stop on the 1400 block of Valerie Lane.
3:20 p.m.: Teenagers were seen shooting at the side of a house with a BB gun near Michael Drive and Thelma Loop. Police got their identification information.
3:58 p.m.: Police recorded the identities of several men who were seen drinking and smashing bottles in the handball court at McDonald Park, 55 N. Central Ave.
5:49 p.m.: A 20-year-old man spraying gang graffiti at Center of Hope, 2514 Holly Drive, was arrested after a caller said he caught two boys spraying “X4” in white paint on the wall.
6:36 p.m.: An evicted tenant of 650 E. 11th St. was trying to gain access to the trailer for his belongings. The caller said the man was advised not to come back.
6:51 p.m.: Inappropriate items were allegedly found in a gift bag given to the caller’s 13-year-old daughter by a neighbor while she was walking to a bus stop on the 400 block of Montclair Lane. He said the bag contained a music CD, gum and press-on nails, and that the man, believed to be in his late 40s or early 50s, should not have contact with his daughter. Police counseled the man in front of his mother, who said he was sorry.
7:19 p.m.: A teen was seen pulling up plants and throwing cement in Galli Family Park, 2341 W. Lowell Ave. Police are investigating.
8:03 p.m.: Police arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk in public on the 1400 block of Madison Avenue.
