Today’s Remember When “mystery photo,” at top, shows a tank fire in Tracy in September 1974. What was burning and where?

Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo,” at right, showed Dan Palomino, left, and Bob Mariano getting ready for the Tracy Latin Athletic Club’s Easter Sunday Pancake Breakfast in April 1980. The fundraising event was held that year at Central School. Palomino died last year, and Mariano continues to live in Tracy.

This year’s TLAC Easter Sunday Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to noon Easter Sunday at Tracy Community Center, 950 East St. Special recognition will be given to Palomino as founding chairman of the breakfast, which raises funds for college scholarships.

Identifying those in the photo were Dan Palomino’s son, Matt Palomino, and Bob Mariano’s daughter Lisa Mullen. Also responding were Willie Serrato, Cynthia Petrig Jimenez, Mary Hernandez, Al “Caballo” Moreno and Ray Fragoso.
