Tracy residents Amber Elizabeth Hux and Evan Paul Marques celebrated their nuptials Oct. 29, 2011, at Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Myrtis Hux of Tracy, sister of Erin Gross of Fresno and granddaughter of Beverly Hux of Houston, Texas. She works as a massage therapist.

Amber’s wedding party consisted of maid of honor Jessica Miller, matron of honor Erin Gross, man of honor Tanner Bassett and bridesmaid Lauren Marques.

The groom is the son of Larry and Sheryl Marques of Tracy, brother of Lauren Marques of Santa Cruz and Cooper Marques of Tracy, and grandson of Patricia Marques of Pacifica. He works as a tire technician.

Evan’s best man was Brian McNeely, with groomsmen Matt Heath, Matt Prestegard and Cooper Marques. The ring bearers were Cole and Greg Gross, and flower girls were Kelly and Kady Munroe.

The couple honeymooned on a seven-day cruise in the eastern Caribbean.

Evan proposed to Amber on Oct. 1, 2010, by carving the phrase “Will you marry me?” into a row of pumpkins he placed on a beach in Pacifica.
