The team from Castro Sport Karate of Tracy traveled to Reno on Feb. 25 to compete in the New Born Kings Mortal Kombat tournament. Local competitors participated in traditional forms, open forms, point sparring, continuous sparring and sport jiu-jitsu.

Grand champions from Castro Sport Karate include Julian Salas in the age 15 to 17 advanced open forms division; Austin Huff in the age 6 to 7 boys advanced point sparring; Kenohe Leonor in the age 10-11 boys intermediate point sparring; and Karla Hernandez in the black belt point sparring.
