Tracy’s Laura McCutcheon celebrated her 100th birthday last week with friends and fellow residents at Emeritus Senior Living at Heritage Place.

Staff members and residents surprised her with a birthday cake and music as she turned 100.

McCutcheon was born March 1, 1912, in Spencer, S.D. She has outlived her elder brother and three sisters.

Her parents, John and Emma Holck, moved the family to Tracy in 1926, and she graduated from Tracy High School in 1929.

She married Ivor Clifford and moved to the Bay Area, returning to Tracy in 1943. After Clifford died, she married Dell McCutcheon in 1953.

McCutcheon has a daughter and a granddaughter still living.
