Fishing tournament

WHEN: 6:15 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4

WHERE: Oak Grove Regional Park, Eight Mile Road and Interstate 5, Stockton.

DETAILS: San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation and the California State Dept. of Fish and Game will plant 2,700 pounds of trout, including 200 pounds of trophy-size fish, at Oak Grove Regional Park, 10-acre lake in preparation for the Ninth Annual Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament. The Park opens at 6:15 a.m. and registration for the fishing tournament closes at 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in youth, teen and adult divisions.

COST: There is no registration fee, but anglers age 16 and over will need a fishing permit, a $5 fee, and the park requires a $5 parking fee.

Soccer tryouts

AC Milan under-11 boys competitive soccer team will have tryouts for boys born between August, 2000 and July, 2001. Players should arrive 30 minutes early on the first day for registration and 15 minutes early on the second and third days. Parents or guardian must be present at the tryouts, and players must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, and water.

City softball league

DETAILS: Registration is open for the Tracy’s Spring Adult Softball League, with divisions for novice, intermediate and advanced divisions for men’s, women’s and coed teams.

High school gymnastics signups

WHERE: Classic Gymnastics, 3602 Mars Way, Suite 113

DETAILS: Tracy, West and Kimball students can stop by Classic Gymnastics to try out for their high school girls’ gymnastics teams. All three teams will begin conditioning in January, and will compete in California Interscholastic Federation events in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League and the Central Coast Section during the spring sports season. New and returning gymnasts must have a current physical on file at their school bookkeeper’s office before coming to practice.
