Soccer: SJAA, VOL name all-league players

Tracy High senior goalkeeper Tyler Hoffman was named MVP among goalies in the San Joaquin Athletic Association. He shares the honor with Franklin High goalie Jesse Garcia. Overall league MVP is Sergio Martinez of Chavez High.

Other Tracy players on the all-league list are senior Andrew Gouveia and juniors Paul Mayes and Byron Munoz. Tracy finished its season at 5-9-2, 4-5-1 and fourth place in the SJAA.

Kimball High had two players on the All-Valley Oak League first-team for the 2011 season. Senior midfielder Justin Hopkins made the all-league list for the second year, and defender Anthony Martinez also was named to the All-VOL first team. Receiving honorable mention was Kimball’s Brett Lassiter.

The Jaguars (8-12-1, 4-10) finished the season in sixth place in the VOL.
