Young Ladies Institute to meet

The women of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church’s Young Ladies Institute No. 150 will meet a week early in November because of the Veterans Day holiday.

The YLI will gather at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in the church’s small hall, where district deputy Irene Killian will make her official visit.

The group’s Dec. 9 meeting will include a celebration of the Christmas holiday, and each member is asked to take two dozen cookies to share and exchange.

Regular meetings are at 4 p.m. the second Friday of each month.

The institute’s 74th anniversary celebration was judged a success, with special guests Sister Angelina Dutra and Sister Andreas Sally Rangle, who joined the Holy Family Order in 1949. Also in attendance were Angie Long of French Camp, Virginia Franks of Livermore, Mary Serpa, Dorothy Gonsalves and Paula Re of Tracy; and institute deputy Darlene Castro of Escalon.
