Tracy girl performs in city by the bay

When the San Francisco Children’s Musical Theater staged its “Rock-n-Roll Reunion” during Presidents’ Day weekend, a young show-biz veteran from Tracy was among the cast.

Bailey Rose Poole, 11, a sixth-grader at Hawkins School, performed in four shows at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. She sang and danced to rock music of the 1950s and ’60s with young people from throughout the region.

Bailey was a member of the Tracy Dry Bean Festival princess court in 2009 and has performed for local audiences, at the Alameda County Fair and in Beverly Hills. In addition to singing, her résumé also includes modeling for magazines and film acting.

Four earn degrees

Several Tracy residents were among Kaplan University’s winter class of 5,600 graduates last month.

Connie Armelino earned a Bachelor of Science in health sciences, David Mallick earned a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Michelle Moore earned a bachelor’s in business administration and Jessica Shields earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice.

The university, based in Chicago, has awarded degrees and professional certificates to nearly 27,000 graduates through its all-online courses since 2001.

Local student excels at Boston University

Tracy’s Deitra A. Dulce has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Boston University.

The university enrolls more than 29,000 students in 17 schools and colleges.
