A man reported at 9:39 a.m. Thursday that he caught a man trying to break into his house at Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park, 812 W. Clover Road. He said it’s possible that the suspect didn’t realize he was home and fled on foot toward Kragen-O’Riley Autoparts on Tracy Boulevard. He said a woman followed the suspect on a 10-speed bike. When he saw her by Kragen, she no longer had the bike and was carrying a large bag, and said she might have given the bike to the suspect

Tracy police logged 155 calls for service Thursday, Jan. 13, including the following reports.

7:38 a.m.: A person said a vehicle was vandalized and burglarized while parked at Holiday Inn Express, 3751 N. Tracy Blvd.

11:43 a.m.: A woman reported that a man on Grant Line Road and Orchard Parkway was shouting obscenities to himself, while she and her daughter were walking on the opposite side of the street. The man called her stuck up, and then said he felt “like killing someone” and wanted to “put a cap in someone.” She said she has seen him in the area before singing and dancing. She also witnessed him cursing at a vehicle.

1:17 p.m.: Police were told that three transient men were acting suspiciously at Tarasco Market, 204 W. 11th St. One man was walking in the middle of the street in front of cars. The other two men were panhandling in front of the store.

4:07 p.m.: A person reported being assaulted by two men on East Lowell Avenue. The two men jumped out of a red, four-door vehicle and attacked the victim, taking a hat. They were last seen traveling northbound on East Street. No weapons were seen or used.

4:50 p.m.: A person reported that a chicken was at the corner of the busy intersection on 11th Street and MacArthur Drive and was concerned that he would cross the road. At 4:54 p.m. another person reported that a chicken was seen on Glenhaven Drive, a few miles away.

6:01 p.m.: A person reported seeing a man panhandling in front of Westside Market, 741 N. Central Ave. He was issued a warning.

8:28 p.m.: Two vehicles were involved in an accident in front of SaveMart, 2005 N. Tracy Blvd., and were blocking traffic. Neither driver was injured.

8:52 p.m.: A person reported that arson may have been the cause of a car fire on East Seventh Street. No suspects were seen in the area, and no people were in the vehicle at the time of the fire.

...after breaking the four minute mile ... judges conferred over the possibility of a substance abuse violation until one trainer admitted, "we actually took Tracy's 'Smart Bus'."

This Orchard Park thing isn't gang related. It's another case of the Street Cops being in the right place at the right time, and using some old fashioned police work to get things done.

You can't learn that at some seminar talking about what a great job you did during a child abduction case.

Apparently gangbanger's survival rate is going down.

In and of itself, is that a bad thing?

Just watch where you're pointing that thing.

Take it to stockton.

Maybe if the chief spent as much time doing her job as she does kissing the medias a$$.. We might have a safer town. She said homicide is up, but somehow we are safer? How did she do that math.

Her agency is logging less statistics because people quit calling the cops, because they don't do anything.

I lived in this town for over 30 years. What does she know?

Here are a few links regarding the police chief and Sgt. Shennamen's efforts to use the street gang issue and the Sandra Cantu case as stepping stone for their own agendas.

Great Job TPD "Street Officers"!!!

I'm really amazed at what a great job the Street Officers do with a police chief who is absent most of the time.

She, and Sgt. Shennamen, spend a lot of time traveling around the country lecturing about what a great job "She" did during the Sandra Cantu case. In fact they're gone so much that the department is in chaos. Multiple officers off on paid leave, (Cogburn, etc...) and she continues to tell people what a great chief she is...

Just like the city manager who tells all the other city managers what a great guy he is, but doesn't take care of business "at home."

From what I can see the old saying is true. "Those that can do and those that can't travel around and lecture!"
