Airman Richard I. Malabey, a West High School graduate, recently completed basic military training with the U.S. Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

He will complete specialized training in aircraft structural engineering in Pensacola, Fla., in February before being stationed in Misawa, Japan.

Malabey attended South and Monte Vista Middle schools and was a member of the West High football team and jazz choir. He also played with the Tracy Raiders from age 7.

The son of Michelle and Richard Malabey of Tracy, he has two older sisters who graduated from Tracy schools and a younger sister attending Kelly School.

He is an awesome Kid/Young Man! His parents did a great job. Tracy should be proud having him represent our town.
