Oakland police announced a suspect in the shooting death of 28-year-old Joshua Ap’e of Tracy, a man who was killed in eastern Oakland on Nov. 4.

According to Oakland police public information officer Jeff Thomason, an arrest warrant has been issued for 32-year-old Sean Sullivan for murder and attempted murder. Sullivan is believed to have shot Ap’e along with his friend, 28-year-old Tracy resident Alex Amin, who remains in an Oakland hospital in critical condition.

Oakland police could not comment further on the incident, which happened at a house on the 7800 block of Outlook Avenue. Ape and Amin had attended the San Francisco Giants’ World Series victory parade earlier in the day and then traveled to the home where the shooting happened.

OAKLAND -- One of two 28-year-old Tracy men shot in East Oakland on Wednesday has died from his wounds, police said today.

Investigators also released the name of the suspected gunman who they are seeking in the case.

Joshua Ape died Thursday evening at 8:47 p.m. at Highland Hospital. A second 28-year-old Tracy man who also was shot remains in critical condition today.

Police identified the suspect as Sean Sullivan, 32, of Brentwood. He has a federal conviction for distribution of methamphetamines.

The shooting happened after Ape and the other victim went to a house in the 7800 block of Outlook Avenue to meet with Sullivan. An argument ensued, and Sullivan shot both men, Sgt. Rachael Van Sloten said. She would not say what the dispute was about.

Sullivan is being sought on a no-bail probable cause warrant accusing him of murder and attempted murder.

@glide,It is automatic when I read an article in The Press to go to another media source to get the news.

Tracy Press will drag out these events to keep folks reading their paper.

They don't investigate anything.

No further details available at this time means, they didn't look.

My prayers and best wishes to Mr. Amin for a complete and full recovery and that you'll be home with your family and friends for the holidays.

The suspect's name was in the Tri-Valley Herald the day after the shooting. Way to go TP.
