A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 23, for Lillian Olive Lavey, 91, a Gustine resident who participated in annual bowling tournaments in Tracy in the 1950s and ’60s. She died June 12 at her daughter’s home in Rocklin.

Born May 31, 1921, in Stevinson, Mrs. Lavey worked 41 years as a secretary and was a lifelong resident of Gustine. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Gustine Historical Society.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Rossie of Alaska and Fred Lavey Jr. of Rancho Mirage; five daughters, Adele Long of Belmont, Yvonne Sorenson, and her husband, Doug, of Turlock, Sharon Wolf, and her husband, Rick, of Newman, Janice Murchison, and her husband, Don, of Tracy and Patricia Conner, and her husband, Mike, of Rocklin; a sister, Doris Stark of Belmont; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred Lavey Sr.; a brother, Medard Parma of Stevinson; and one grandson.

Saturday’s Mass and rosary will begin at 9 a.m. at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles, 370 Linden Ave., in Gustine. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Stevinson. Hillview Funeral Chapel of Gustine is handling arrangements.
