John ‘Jack’ Yates

A celebration of life is scheduled for June 16 for John “Jack” Yates, 91, who died Saturday, June 2, in Tracy.

Mr. Yates was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Donora, Pa.

In March, he and his wife moved from Concord to Tracy to live with relatives.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Croxton Faubel Yates; two daughters, Nancy Martin of Los Altos and Beverly Mills of Tustin; and a stepson, George Faubel of Burlingame; and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Allan and Ada Yates; his son, Richard Yates; and his first wife, Mary Yates.

A celebration of his life will begin at 1 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., and will include full military honors. A guest book is online at www.frymemorialchapel.com for messages to the family.
