EDITOR,

I support Rhodesia Ransom for county supervisor. Her campaign literature states she has courage, character, commitment. She doesn’t take stands that will please everyone — she thinks and evaluates, that’s positive.

She has character. She expresses this through the groups she belongs to, from the Tracy school district’s anti-bullying committee to her state-certified volunteer family mediator training.

She obviously values beauty and enrichment, hence her work with the Tracy Performing Arts Foundation.

She has the endorsement of four San Joaquin County law enforcement organizations. She’s no-nonsense on law enforcement She is committed to serving her full term, if elected.

She is committed, first to her husband and three children, to the children of our community and those of San Joaquin County. She has proven her ability to accept responsibilities and follow through in her nine and half years of living in Tracy. She has earned our vote.

DCJR:

Kind of makes you wonder whether Mr. Elliott has been the victim of identity theft in an attempt to discredit him, doesn't it? If that's the case, then one would have to wonder who would have the motive to commit such an act, doesn't it?

The Elliott campaign paid over $900 as part of his cost to be included on the flyer mentioned by DCJR.

It sounds to me like Mr. Elliott is trying to be all things to all people, which will not work well for him. I think he needs to pick team and stay committed to it.

But then, he also told everyone he planned to serve for four years on the Tracy City Council before seeking higher office.

RaiderFan has double standards. In one comment below he says 'it does not matter if ransom is democrat then he says it matters if elliot is.

What I don't need is my hair in curlers getting voting advice from my hair dresser or someone eating a greasy round pastry at the local donut or coffee shop. I want to vote for someone who understands water issues, farm issues, safety issues and how that helps business. I don't care for someone committed to local gossip or union backed Raleys strikers telling me not to cross the line and buy my produce because they have to pay more insurance. I have to pay more for my insurance too. And for crying out loul. The guy running the union office makes ten times what I make. He should pay their rising insurance costs and go home and save everybody some money.

So tell me. Which candidate can I commit to vote for?

Any candidate you decide to commit on. Digest all the information you can find on as many as are running and then make your informed decision. If you let others decide for you chances are you are going to end up disappointed.

No surprises here. Ms Ransom is backed by labor unions to the tune of over $12,000 cash and a $6,000 mailer from the SEIU (recordnet.com on 5/28), while Mr Elliott has no such backing.

As we saw in Tracy with Measure E, the unions run the show when their candidates get elected. They can depend on Ms Ransom to do their bidding if she is elected.

That means taxpayers get raked over the coals.

Did you know that Ms Ransom is also a Democratic activist? http://emergeca.org/content/rhodesia-ransom

"Rhodesia traveled to Colorado and worked with the Obama campaign as Deputy Field Organizer "

This is how Democratic politics work on every level, top to bottom. Local Democrats work for the Obama campaign. Local Democrats get backing from unions, Unions get money funneled to them via Democratic legislation. Unions funnel money back to the Democratic candidates.

TIME TO BREAK THE CYCLE IN TRACY !!!

You are right TracyCAcommuter it is time to break the cycle but this election is not about just Tracy, it is about San Joaquin County.

Whether, Ms. Ransom is a Democrat or a Republican doesn't make much difference on the Board of Supervisors. What does matter is that she, or Mr. Elliott break free from the special interests and make independent decisions about what is best for San Joaquin County residents.

And Mr. Elliott has the support of Steve Moore, the San Joaquin County Sheriff, and Jim Willett, the District Attorney for San Joaquin County. These gentlemen are the 2 top law enforcement officials in our County.
