Family and friends traditionally get together on the Fourth of July to celebrate America’s independence.

This freedom and safety of our land has been challenged by foreign and local terrorists.

Some runners at the Boston Marathon on April 15 were victims of bombs set off by terrorists. Deaths and injuries resulted.

Such unexpected injuries and deaths can also be caused by drunken drivers.

When I was 16 in April 1992, my car was hit head on by a drunken driver. I was in a coma and faced paralysis, with multiple dislocated and broken bones. This prevented me from attending school, playing sports and spending time with family and friends.

I relearned how to talk and walk, but I cannot drive and have hearing difficulties. I never expected my life to be like this.

Notice the connection between a terrorist and a drunken driver?

The freedom and safety we cherish every day, especially on the Fourth of July, may be taken away if America’s citizens drive drunk.

Stay sober if driving. Support America, and don’t become a terrorist!

There is no correlation here. A drunk may end up in AA, A terrorist may end up in T.A.?

"Notice the connection between a terrorist and a drunken driver?"

Actually no, as stupid and reckless as driving drunk is, I would hardly call those who do terrorist, unless their intent while getting boozed up is to then go out and kill or injure someone, note intent.

I'm sincerely sorry for what happened to you and can't imaging what you have gone through, but on this correlation I have to respectfully disagree.

Thank You for commenting and stating your feelings. I understand your thoughts completely, but you have to see both sides of the coin here.

Americans hate terrorists and can’t stand their actions killing innocent people. On the other hand, we have drunks riding the roads like maniacs killing and hurting innocent people.

The way people get injured or die is different and that is basically it.

Drunken drivers have killed and injured more people than terrorists. To me, it seems as if Americans detest terrorists for the uncalled for injuries and deaths to civilians.

Really? Prove to others that terrorists are wrong then! Don’t copy terrorists by killing and injuring others of this free country by driving drunk.

I’m defending my words. Just my feelings, friend. Have a wonderful and safe Fourth of July backinblack!
