EDITOR,

U.S. taxpayers generate roughly $2.17 trillion. Our federal budget is about $3.82 trillion, our new debt is about $1.65 trillion, our national debt is $16.6 trillion, and the total budget cuts from sequester are $44 billion.

Even if Congress cut spending to balance the budget and saved $1 million per day to pay down the debt, it would take 2,740 years to pay off $1 trillion dollars and 45,484 years to pay off the entire national debt. This does not include the daily accrual of interest on the debt or the $122 trillion of unfunded liabilities due to Social Security or Medicare.

Each year, the federal government admits to wasting $125 billion through fraud or unaccountable money. How can our government waste $125 billion per year, while President Obama states it will be a “catastrophe” if we cut $44 billion? He has threatened to shut down essential services and furlough workers.

Beyond that, he has used the opportunity to scare the public by releasing 5,000 illegal immigrants, threatened general safety and inconvenienced travel in an attempt to trouble the American people and blame those who want responsible spending.

Obama may be trying to scare the American people that Republicans are going to cause people to suffer, but it is his lies and this fraudulent and deceptive government that is destroying America.

The framers of the U.S. Constitution feared an all-powerful government. They established checks and balances to limit the power of the government over the people. Over the years, our government has become larger, gained more authority over the people, and has become more corrupt.

If the government were a business, it would be in bankruptcy — and those running it would be in jail for fraud and deception.

The good news just keeps rolling in:

http://editorial.autos.msn.com/blogs/autosblogpost-ros.aspx?post=2dbe7fdb-4bee-4511-b597-45434a4702d9&icid=autos_4175

More taxpayer money down the tubes.

Shelly, at least you see the truth, there's plenty of blame to go around and the only reason I'm using this forum for these recent posts is to challenge people like dd & doorsc who to this day ignorantly blame everything on Bush.

Hey dd & doorsc, you two are always including me in your alleged woman hating group so I have to ask, why is it Shelly and I get along just fine? We rarely agree on political issues and often have differing views on other issues yet always treat each other with respect. Broken english aside, me thinks you and not I be the problem.

This would be front page news and the lead story on every liberally biased news or opinion show on television if attributable to a republican.

Ah, to live in hateful ignorance. Who cares if the facts show the economic collapse has the fingerprints of a number of administrations going back to at least the Carter admin.

Community Reinvestment Act

Pressue on the banks from the likes of Frank & Co to get what were basically unqualified buyers into homes.

Although he tried the failure of Bush to stop Frank & Co.

Bush was a spender, Obama is a bigger spender and by the time he's done will have increased the deficit 3-4 times higher than Bush.

Black unemployment rate under Bush, almost half of what it is under Obama.

Black home ownership under Bush, higher than under Obama.

The dot.com bubble which helped in the prosperity under Clinton burst and the economy was sliding when he left office so he basically dodged a bullet. Much of what he accomplished such as welfare reform which Obama is trying to destroy, was the result of the work he did with Gingrich. By the way, much of Clintons success happened after he moved towards the center and started working with Newt and those dasdardly republicans.

As a challenge to the ignorati please do not reply with personal attacks, instead try making me look foolish by proving the above facts are false - I won't hold my breath.

Many things contributed to the economic crisis. To point at just one thing or person is ludicrous. The Dems point at Bush and the Repubs at Obama. Neither is correct. Unfortunately it was a perfect storm and it keeps raining! :)

We need new blood in office. Not just the President, but EVERYONE! Wipe the slate clean and start anew...we can only wish!

Easy solution, stop reading it and go watch Chris Matthews or Rachel Maddow who I bet are two of your main sources of information.

What most negatives being said about Obama is not at all racist. Its a matter of a free America who are not used to a guy like Obama who's radical agenda taking the country down a totally different road than what it has been on. The scary part is Obama is smart and knows how to talk and make people feel good and some people do not care at all but like him just because he is black plain and simple. His agenda will only go so far and there will be a tipping point and the media will turn on him. We were worried about his second term, concerns over him not worrying about popularity or winning another election. We can see he is setting an example and the liberal governors are doing his deeds with gun control. This is an example of his influence on the ones in public offices who like him, they are proposing some of the most idiotic liberal laws with our 2nd amendment. People had better start waking up and joining a cause to keep us from a place like Europe because that's where we are heading and it will be worse because we will not be happy with his big picture that is "slowly" developing.

Is Obama not focused on the economy because he is inept?

Even if he rejected Paul Ryan's plan (guess we could not expect him to reach across the aisles, like he promised, nobody does that anymore), but he could still come up with a plan of his own.

Why does he feel the need to waste time screwing up senior care instead of fixing the economy. Nothing we expected is happening. I have to wonder if he does it because he has no clue how to help middle America. I think he does know how to pander to lobbyists. That's about all I see he has going.

I hope the media does turn the tide, because a lot needs to come out in the wash. There are too many unemployed young black males in America to call that a racist statement. Something needs to be done and I'm just not sure he wants to do the job anymore.

The reason the economy is poor and there is no balanced budget is #1 Obama is a socialist and socialists do not balance budgets, they just raise taxes and spend the money per the ideology beliefs like Obamas. #2. He prays on the people who think highly to keep him in office, free stuff for them and just enough to get him back into office. #3 Paul Ryan has a budget and Ryan proposes to defund Obama care. The defunding part is symbolic but, it also stands for what is against Obama, a message from the conservatives saying we do not want your socialism ideology ruining our freedoms and we do not want dependency upon the government like the way Obama's socialistic ideology wants it. The Ryan budget will not be approved by Obama because of (Obama's) ideology and was in champagne mode selling his story to the world that conservatives are bad and the sequester is going to hurt while trying to look good, silver tong speeches and the biased media stations covering for him and promoting his agenda by not challenging him because he is Americas first black president. I mean, how shameful would that be to call him up on a bad idea because it would be seen as racist. Obama is off course.

What is preventing Obama from recovering the economy? In his first term he was fond of blaming the last guy. But he has since stopped that and I for one am concerned we all made a mistake. The housing market should have recovered by now. The job market should have recovered by now. The only thing I can figure out is that people just don't have confidence in who we voted for. I guess it's too late to turn back now. I do agree that the spending problem needs to be nipped. Today I went to Silicon Valley and saw that Solyndra went bankrupt. Does anyone know how much Obama spent on Solyndra? I wish I knew what I know now, a few years ago. I might have voted differently.

Many people don't care whether our government is in debt or whether they are in debt.

Just keep the border open, the propagation going, the milk flowing, the Head Start rolling, and the benighted metaphysics in tact.

The "It-can-happen-to-anyone" metaphysics of life exonerates us all.
