Mr. Gutierrez, a native of El Paso, Texas, born Dec. 10, 1942, lived in Tracy the past nine years and was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. He had worked 35 years as a truck driver for various firms.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Reyna Garcia of Tracy; eight children, Michelle Gutierrez, Bill Gutierrez, Cindi Enloe and Karmen Rodriguez, and her husband, Hugo, all of Tracy, Pascual Gutierrez, and his wife, Felica, of Dublin, Bertha Luna, and her husband, Polo, and Manuel Ayala, and his wife, Rosa, all of Los Angeles, and Hazel Waiswilos, and her husband, Douglas, of Danville; and 13 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Hendrickson of Livermore and Marcela Condos, and her husband, George, of San Lorenzo.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Pascual and Lucille Gutierrez; and two sisters, Hortencia Wheatherman and Cecilia Aguirre.
The Mass on Tuesday will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial will be private. Visitation will be observed from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. Highland Ave., followed immediately by a vigil service.
