Nancy Young has slightly extended her lead over Mike Maciel as frontrunner for one of two open seats on the Tracy City Council.
Young has tallied 7,278 votes (27 percent) to Maciel’s 6,911 votes (25 percent) — a growing 367-vote advantage.
Ray Morelos is in third place with 4,701 votes (17 percent); Charles Manne has 4,282 votes (17 percent); and Roger Birdsall has 3,679 votes (14 percent).
Bill Berryhill has extended his lead over Cathleen Galgiani, 89,209 votes (52 percent) to 83,319 (48 percent), in the race for the state Senate 5th District.
Democrat Jerry McNerney is opening up a lead on Republican Ricky Gill, 69,889 votes (53.2 percent) to 61,550 (46.8 percent), for the 9th Congressional District seat. Mountain House is in the 9th District.
Rep. Jeff Denham (R) is still leading Democrat Jose Hernandez, 66,058 votes (54.7 percent) to 54,710 (45.3 percent), in the race for the 10th Congressional District, which includes Tracy south of Interstate 205 and parts of Stanislaus County.
Stockton City Councilwoman Susan T. Eggman (D) has a commanding lead over Republican K. “Jeffrey” Jafri, 44,155 votes (63 percent) to 25,857 (37 percent), for the seat of the 13th Assembly District.
Andy K. Su, Jim Lamb and Bernice King Tingle are expected to retain their seats on the Mountain House Community Services District Board of Directors. Su had 28 percent and Lamb and Tingle each had 20 percent of the 4,475 votes counted as of midnight.
The recall of Mountain House board member Jass Singh appears set to pass, with 59.2 percent of the 1,916 votes counted as of midnight.
Steven Gutierrez is leading the three-candidate race to take over Singh’s seat with 46.6 percent of 1,560 votes.
President Barack Obama has won his reelection campaign by defeating challenger Mitt Romney.
Tracy Mayor Brent Ives was reelected after running unopposed.

As of 10:45 p.m., Young has tallied 4,478 votes (27 percent) to Maciel’s 4,434 votes (26 percent) — a slim 44-vote advantage.
Ray Morelos is in third place with 2,882 votes (17 percent); Charles Manne has 2,655 votes (16 percent); and Roger Birdsall has 2,334 votes (14 percent).

Stockton City Councilwoman Susan T. Eggman (D) has a commanding lead over Republican K. “Jeffrey” Jafri, 33,645 votes (62 percent) to 20,404 (38 percent), for the seat of the 13th Assembly District.
The race to represent the 9th Congressional District is being led by Democrat Jerry McNerney with 47,777 votes (52.2 percent). His challenger, Republican Ricky Gill, has 43,694 votes (47.8 percent). The district includes Mountain House and the portion of Tracy north of Interstate 205.
Rep. Jeff Denham (R) is leading Democrat Jose Hernandez, 48,740 votes (55.7 percent) to 38,811 (44.3 percent), in the race for the 10th Congressional District, which includes most of Tracy.

In the race for the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, Bob Elliott is leading Rhodesia R. Ransom, 8,807 votes (56 percent) to 6,879 (44 percent).
Two candidates have jumped out to an early lead in the race for two open seats on the Tracy City Council.
Michael Maciel leads the five-candidate group with 4,063 votes (27 percent), followed closely by Nancy D. Young, who has 4,051 votes (27 percent). Ray Morelos has recorded 2,555 votes (17 percent); Charles Manne has 2,414 votes (16 percent); and Roger Birdsall has tallied 2,124 votes (14 percent).
Tracy Mayor Brent Ives will retain his position, having run unopposed in this election. He has received 8,019 votes. There were 401 write-in votes.

I think you are off on a tangent again grasping at straws.
The voters have such issues at hand such as jobs and safety.
In fact, the majority of the people impacted by the economy are the young people you mentioned.
Some of them may not even have a clue of what are the issues, let alone the candidates. But they may want to grow in that understanding if they expect any change.
Otherwise they will become disallusioned and give up on voting when they get old.

I am now considering to ask to be appointed to the the vacant seat. I think that a they have put in place something that anyone with common sense could see coming. I believe this this attitude is not conducive with the will of the people. WMN
