The Bulldogs from Tracy High shut down the Franklin Yellowjackets on all fronts Friday as they took a 44-0 win Friday night at Wayne Schneider Stadium.

The win clinches a Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoff spot and a first-place finish in the San Joaquin Athletic Association for Tracy, which remains undefeated with 9-0 overall, 4-0 SJAA records.

The Bulldogs scored on all of their possessions in the first quarter to take a 21-0 lead and held back Franklin's best efforts to gain ground through the first half.

Meanwhile, Tracy used a little bit of everything to collect touchdowns.

Tracy scored within the first two minutes, as the Bulldogs' first possession included a 38-yard run up the left by Ricky Diaz and a 21-yard screen-pass-turned-touchdown from quarterback Casey Wichman to Anthony Wills.

Once Tracy got the ball back, Wichman made a couple big runs and completed a 27-yard pass to Wills to get Tracy on the 1-yard line, and Wichman ran it in for the score.

Franklin had just got the ball back on the kickoff when Billy Simon snagged an interception on the Franklin 49-yard line and ran it back to get Tracy into Franklin territory. Jordan Strong added a 17-yard run, and a couple plays later caught Wichman's 6-yard touchdown pass.

At the end of the first quarter Tracy's Robert Emerson intercepted a Franklin pass but dropped it when he was tackled. The ball bounced Tracy’s way, however, as Strong picked it up on the Tracy 12-yard line.

The march back up the field included Depray Celestine's punt fake, which he ran for 25 yards, and ended when Wichman flipped the ball to Celestine, who smartly threw a 36-yard bomb to Jordan Williams in the end zone.

Tracy started the second half with a bang, as Williams intercepted a Franklin pass on the Yellowjackets’ first play after the kickoff. He also ran a 29-yard quarterback keeper after Casey Wichman left the game, apparently with a sore back. Celestine then ran it in 21 yards for the Bulldogs' fifth touchdown.

Franklin didn't get far before Celestine intercepted a pass and ran it back 48 yards to get Tracy in range for Max Garrigan — who was already 5-for-5 on point-after attempts — to kick a 25-yard field goal to make it a 38-0 game.

Franklin got as far as the Tracy 7-yard line at the end of the third quarter, which was as far as the Tracy defense would allow, taking the ball back on downs and denying a score.

Tracy controlled the ball through the fourth quarter, and finished with Williams’ 9-yard touchdown run with 1:44 left on the clock.
