Mac, a redbone coonhound mix, is friendly with people and never aggressive, though he was found emaciated and neglected. Mac is putting on weight and learning basic commands from his foster family, professional trainers. About 5 years old, he is neutered and current on vaccines. Animal Rescue of Tracy has adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays at the West Valley Mall. For information: 642-4324 or www.animalrescuetracy.org.

During the Feb. 16 pet adoption fair, visitors can purchase engraved pet ID tags from USA Trophies for $5 and a portion of the price will go to the rescue group.
