The latest was an 8-1 loss at home to Sierra High of Manteca on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Kimball sophomore Kylie Moxley got the Jaguars’ only win of the day, 6-2, 6-1, against Naomi Nunes in the No. 2 singles match.
The Jaguars also had a close match in the No. 4 singles position as Jessica Agcanas lost to Maddie Banks 6-2, 7-6. Kimball’s No. 2 doubles team of Sara Kim and Desiree Chhan went three sets against Barbara Baxter and Kelsey Well, but Sierra won, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1.
Sierra won four more of the singles matches and a doubles match in straight sets, taking the final doubles match by forfeit.
While the Manteca High team beat Kimball 9-0 on Sept. 20, the Jaguars put up a couple of close matches, including a 4-6, 7-5, 10-4 match in the No. 1 singles as Kimball’s Krishna Sankara lost in a tiebreaker to Manteca’s Rosa Zou.
Kimball’s No. 3 singles player, Viel Salgarino, started off strong against Aclaeze Nkwocha, but that match also went to Manteca, 7-5, 6-3.
Manteca won the other matches in straight sets.
Kimball lost to East Union, 5-4, on Sept. 18.
West 9, McNair 0
The Wolf Pack is in second place in the Tri-City Athletic League after St. Mary’s following a sweep of McNair in Stockton on Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Emma Bell won her match 6-0, 6-2; Regina Pacheco won 6-0, 6-0; Jessica Diaz won 6-1, 6-0; Maliyah Shavers won 6-1, 6-2; Ashley Phillips won 6-1, 6-1; and Julie Schobey won 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Coleen Andrada and Abby Sevilla won 6-1, 6-2; Arianne Coleto and Rachel Vindiola won 6-3, 6-3; and Russell Jorda and Alyssa Cornier won 6-2, 6-2.
Tracy 9, Bear Creek 0
Tracy High’s tennis team finished the first half of the San Joaquin Athletic Association season Tuesday with a sweep at home against Bear Creek High of Stockton.
The win gives the Bulldogs a 4-1 record and second place in the league after Lodi.
Tracy’s Chiara Adamo beat May Simpson 6-1, 6-2; Aubrey Boehm beat Tiffany Bo 6-3, 6-0; Marissa Anderson beat Monica Dang 6-0, 6-1; Sarah Kellogg beat Jessica Dang 6-1, 6-2; and Camille McDaniel and Maisy Green both beat their opponents in straight 6-0 sets.
In doubles, Keara O’Brien and Gianna Violante beat Felicia Harris and Jenilyn Pillamas 6-0, 6-1; Katrina Broughton and Lindsey Ewen beat Jennifer Bernal-Nguyen and Adina Sasson 6-1, 6-0; and Xenia Ceja and Devra Asah beat Linh Nyugen and Christina Tran 6-0, 6-0.

West High’s tennis team dominated its home match against Edison High of Stockton on Tuesday.
Singles players Bell, Pacheco, Shavers and Allie Bettencourt all won their matches in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets, and Diaz and Chloe Pounds won their matches in straight 6-1, 6-1 sets.
The doubles teams of Schobey and Kristen Steed and Sevilla and Vindiola won their matches 6-0, 6-0, and Andrada and Coleto won their match 6-1, 6-0.
