The driver of a four-door sedan was traveling south on Corral Hollow Road around 1:20 p.m. when the teenager was struck, according to Sgt. Ryan Knight of the Tracy Police Department.
A medical helicopter transported the teen to “an area hospital,” according to Knight.
His injuries were not life threatening, Knight said Monday, Aug. 5.
Knight declined to speak about where the teenager was riding his bicycle when the vehicle struck him.
“I wouldn’t want to speculate on that because that’s still under investigation,” he said.
The driver’s name and the make and model of the vehicle were not released by Knight.
At the scene, the vehicle was stopped about 50 feet south of the intersection with 11th Street. The driver’s side portion of the windshield was smashed.
No charges were filed against the driver as of Monday, but the crash is still under investigation, Knight said.
Corral Hollow Road south of 11th Street was closed for nearly five hours while officers investigated the crash. Westbound traffic on 11th Street was also not allowed to turn south on Corral Hollow Road.
