The Tracy Unified School District announced Wednesday that it had hired the former assistant principal of Williams Middle School, Sam Strube, as director of student services and curriculum.

Strube has served as the interim director since the departure of Paul Hall on Dec. 3. Hall is now chief human resources officer of San Lorenzo Unified School District in San Lorenzo, near Hayward.

Strube, 43, was a school administrator at Tracy High, Monte Vista Middle and North schools before his nine-year tenure as assistant principal at Williams.

In a news release Wednesday, Superintendent Dr. James Franco called Strube a valuable member of the district administrative team.

“Sam has critical experience in similar positions, and we are excited for him to be filling this new role at Tracy Unified School District,” Franco said.

TUSD also announced that it had started the process to fill Strube’s role at Williams Middle School.
