Tracy Express signups

Tracy Express fast pitch softball will have signups throughout the next month at Williams Middle School, 1600 Tennis Lane. Signups will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays Nov. 3, 10 and 17 and Dec. 1, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Players can also register online at www.tracyexpressfastpitch.com. Registration fee is $130, or $125 for additional family members. There will also be an equipment exchange at signup dates; people can donate slightly used equipment and players can buy used equipment, with money raised going to support Tracy Express.

Falcon volleyball benefit

The Millennium High volleyball team will have a benefit during the Falcons’ last home volleyball game against Lodi Academy at 6 p.m. Wednesday at West High. The night will include a varsity-versus-faculty game after the Lodi Academy game, and players are seeking sponsors for their serves and aces in both games.

The team also seeks donations for two gift baskets that will be raffled off. Gifts and cash donations to Millennium Athletics are welcome.

Club Levile tryouts

Club Levile Volleyball will have tryouts from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church gym, 1635 Chester Drive, for the upcoming season, which runs from December to May. Club Levile has teams in four age levels for players 12 through 18.

There is a $15 tryout fee for all players, who must show a copy of their birth certificates and take athletic attire and water. Registration forms are available on the club’s Web site, www.clublevilevolleyball.com.

Baseball clinics

Local baseball coach Kevin Saenz hosts baseball fielding and hitting clinics every Monday — one session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and another from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. — at 1416 Mariani Court, Ste. 120. Cost is $10. There will also be tryouts for new teams for ages 10, 11, 12, and 17 and under.

Soccer tryouts

The Tracy Futbol Club boys under-15 Chaos is looking for players. Tryouts take place during regular practices, from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays at Tracy Ball Park, 2100 N. Tracy Blvd. The team is open to boys born after Aug. 1, 1994.

Trout Bout at Oak Grove

San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation and the Delta Fly Fishers will host the 25th annual Trout Bout on Nov. 21 at Oak Grove Regional Park on Eight Mile Road in Stockton. About 2,500 pounds of trout will be planted for the tournament, which is free for kids 15 and younger.

There will be four age divisions: 8 and under; 9 to 12; 13 to 15; and 16 and older, with first place prizes going to the heaviest fish in each division.

There is no registration fee for the event, but a $3 fishing permit fee and valid California fishing license are required for participants age 16 and older. A $5 parking fee will also apply. Participants must supply their own fishing equipment.

Park gates open at 6:15 a.m., registration closes at 10 a.m. and the last weigh-in is at 12:30 p.m.

Little League signups

Tracy Little League is now taking signups for the 2010 season. The league is open to players ages 4 through 14 as of April 30, 2010. Fees are $50 for ages 4 and 5 and $135 for ages 6 through 14. New and returning players are encouraged to register online. Registration will close Dec. 31. Tryouts are scheduled for Jan. 9 and 10.

Stadium signs available

West High School’s Athletics Department has space available in Steve Lopez Stadium for businesses that want to buy signs. Different levels of sponsorship are available, depending on size and location of signs, and signs will be visible year-round as many teams in addition to those from West High use the stadium.
