DETAILS: The Tracy Sparks/Spurs AAU basketball club will have tryouts for the upcoming tournament season. Seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade boys try out from 10 a.m. to noon, and seventh- and eighth-grade girls try out from noon to 2 p.m.

Tracy Rampage youth football

DETAILS: Tracy Rampage, a new youth football team playing in the Delta Youth Sports Association Nor Cal league, will register players and cheerleaders for the 2013 season. Parents must take a copy of each youth’s birth certificate, proof of medical insurance if applicable and the registration fee. The DYSA does not allow cuts and has a minimum play rule to make sure all players get into the game. Children ages 5 to 14 are eligible to participate. Future registration events will be March 16, April 20, May 18 and June 1.

Ellis Aquatics summer season

DETAILS: Ellis Aquatics, a year-round swimming and water polo club, will have an orientation meeting for new swimmers and water polo players and their parents. Ellis Aquatics hosts youth and adult teams. Tryouts for teams will be Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Pinkie Phillips Aquatics Center at West High.


Tracy NJB at UC Berkeley basketball

WHEN: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2

WHERE: Haas Pavilion, University of California, Berkeley

DETAILS: The Tracy chapter of the National Junior Basketball league is selling tickets to the Cal Bears vs. Colorado game on March 2 and aims to sell at least 275 tickets for a chance to play a 15-minute exhibition game at Haas Pavilion between the Cal game and the NJB Tracy coaches game. The last day to buy tickets to benefit Tracy NJB is Feb. 17.

COST: $15 for adults, $10 for students up to 12th grade

Youth soccer referee clinic

WHEN: Friday, March 8, to Sunday, March 10

WHERE: Tracy Transit Station, 50 E. Sixth St., Ste. 104

DETAILS: Tracy Youth Soccer League will host a United States Soccer Federation referee licensing clinic for new referees and those who need to renew their licenses. The three-day session runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The clinic concludes with the California North Referee Administration exam.

COST: $20 to TYSL for the clinic and $40 to CNRA for the exam.

2012 Trophy Tour

DETAILS: The San Francisco Giants will bring their World Series trophies from 2012 and 2010 to Tracy. The event will include concessions, drawings for prizes, and the opportunity for photos with the World Series trophies.
