Oktoberfest 5K fun run

DETAILS: A 5K fun run, about 3.1 miles, will go through the neighborhood around St Paul’s Lutheran Church. The run is part of the church’s Oktoberfest celebration. Entry fees will benefit the Kimball High water polo teams and Building Together Today. The run is followed by a pancake breakfast for all runners at 9 a.m.; nonrunners are also welcome at the breakfast for a small donation.

Dash of the Dead

DETAILS: Dash of the Dead is a 5K fun run with obstacles and zombies. It’s not a timed race, but only those who can outrun the zombies will be eligible for prizes at the end of the run. Waves begin every 10 minutes. Runners age 13 and up can register as zombies, and they will be eligible for prizes based on how many people they can catch.
COST: $50 for runners, $20 for zombies, with professional zombie makeup available at and additional cost, plus $10 for parking.

Naming of youth sports complex
DETAILS: The city of Tracy will consider nominations for naming the new youth sports complex, now unofficially known as the Holly Sugar Youth Sports Fields. The city’s Parks Commission has a subcommittee that will consider nominations, and will decide on a name during one of the commission’s regular meetings in December. Potential names for the complex could be based on historical significance, geographic location, functionality, and significant individuals or families in Tracy. Deadline for submission is Nov. 18.

Jaguar All-Sport Passes

DETAILS: The Kimball Athletic Department has Jaguar All Sport Passes to adults who will attend athletic events throughout the 2012-13 school year. Each pass, a $300 value for the cost of $100, admits one adult to any home game, except playoff games, on the Kimball High campus, including football, volleyball, soccer, water polo, basketball, wrestling, swimming and track and field.
