Out of the thousands of people who work to make Tracy a better place to live, the Tracy Chamber of Commerce honors a select handful each year with Community Recognition Awards.

And the Chamber wants your help making the decision.

Nominations are being accepted for the 2013 award honorees, whose names will be announced Dec. 14. The winners will be feted during a Feb. 16 gala at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.

The chamber has forms for the nominations available at its office, 213 E. 11th St., and online at www.tracychamber.org. Completed forms can be turned in through Nov. 30.

Those chosen for the awards typically “display excellence in business and community services,” according to a statement from Sofia Valenzuela, the chamber’s director.

The 2012 honorees were Walter Gouveia, male citizen of the year; Linda Turner, female citizen of the year; Dr. Jagdish Patel, professional of the year; Adrian Franco, entrepreneur of the year; Jan McDonnal, ambassador of the year; Tracy Rotary, organization of the year; and Souza Realty, business of the year.
